As spring approaches there's never been a better time to explore the many music festivals that Scotland has to offer.
Whether you're looking for a family ceilidh, want to see up-and-coming new talent, or try your hand at song writing, look no further than Scotland.
This is the events 23rd year and continues to attract local and international performers and visitors from around the world. This year sees Bobby Wishart play at the festival. Bobby is one of the greatest jazz musicians in the UK along with the likes Keith Stephen’s Hot Club Trio and T.J.Johnson B provide the music.
Perth Festival of the Arts is an annual 11 day May Festival, founded in 1972, and taking place in the City of Perth in Scotland. The Festival is an independent registered charity. It covers a wide range of artforms from classical music and opera to rock, jazz, folk, dance and visual art. The Festival takes place in Perth Concert Hall, Perth Theatre and St John's Kirk.
The Glasgow Jazz Festival has always strived to bring to Glasgow a selection of top performers in a broad range of musical styles. 2010 is no exception. The festival takes place in various venues across the city.
From its beginnings at Strathclyde Country Park in 1994 T in the Park has grown in size and influence to become one of the most important and critically acclaimed music events on the international festival circuit. Now based in Balado near Kinross its boast an A-list line up of Pop, Rock and Dance music artists.
This is the 15th year of the award winning festival that attracts people from around the world. Regular visitors from countries such as the USA, Canada and New Zealand make the journey to Stornoway each year to sample quality music in a unique island setting.
The festival was voted Event of the Year in the prestigious MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2009 and now expects to enhance that reputation further.
